New Formats Supported / New Build Video
Wow a year has gone by so fast since I released the EB 617 for sale. Since then there have been so many small and big changes to the system, it had come time to update the Instructional Build Video. Rather than try and tack on alterations, I undertook the huge task of filming an entirely new Build Video, this video is now live and covers the entire process with all the new features and options, including 4x5 Back, new 612 back and Wetplate back.
V1.3.1 03/12/25 - There are now files for a 612 Film Back in the Beta folder as it undergoes testing, this will allow you to shoot 6 frames in 6 x 12, as compared to the 4 frames in 6 x 17. The model files also include 2 x frame adaptors, these can be inserted into the rear of the ground glass to adjust the field of view to be correct for 612, these frame adapters are fully compatible with the Nick Carver Reflex Viewer and are easily removable for when you choose to shoot 617.
The Wetplate film back has also had some small changes, there is now a light lock channel to replace the gasket material, this should help simplify cleanup after shooting.
Finally, after multiple requests from users shooting with wide angle lenses such as 115, 90 and 75 that the bellows provided do not allow full movements of the standard with the lenses, I have added templates in the Beta folder for the construction of Bag Bellows, much simpler than standard bellows, bag bellows merely require a strip of light proof fabric to be cut to the templates shape, and then glued to a standard set of bellows mounting frames. Testers have reported good success using material from old film change bags, as well as curtain blackout material.
